Datapool x Fluidra: a new approach to managing aquatic facilities

Datapool is joining Fluidra, marking a new phase in its development. Announced on 29 May 2026, the move strengthens a shared ambition: to help local authorities and operators manage their aquatic facilities more efficiently, accurately and sustainably, in France and across Europe.

A partnership built on a shared ambition

Fluidra’s acquisition of Datapool builds on a partnership that began in 2024, when Fluidra invested in the company, then known as Ecotropy and now called Datapool, through its Fluidra Ventures fund.

The partnership brings together complementary expertise. Datapool contributes its digital twin technology and expertise in optimising water and energy consumption. Fluidra, a Spanish-origin group specialising in connected equipment and solutions for swimming pools, brings its sector expertise and international presence.

For Datapool, joining Fluidra is an opportunity to accelerate the development of its solution and expand its deployment. Its integration into Fluidra’s digital ecosystem for public swimming pools also opens up opportunities to complement the group’s connected equipment and tools.

The same purpose: supporting facility managers

For existing and future customers alike, Datapool’s purpose remains at the heart of this new phase: to better understand how facilities operate in order to manage their consumption and operating costs more effectively.

The platform uses a digital twin, a virtual representation of how an aquatic facility operates. It brings together consumption, visitor numbers, weather and water quality data to compare the facility’s actual operation with an optimised operating model.

This approach helps facility managers to:

  • identify variations in consumption and anticipate incidents;
  • adjust operating settings to meet actual needs;
  • track performance using traceable data;
  • inform investment decisions with objective evidence.

According to performance figures announced by Fluidra, this optimisation can reduce operating costs by 10–25% through better management of water and energy consumption, without construction work or intrusive interventions. Results depend on each facility’s characteristics and operating conditions.

Growth across the European Union

Beyond France, Datapool is planning to expand across Europe, particularly in Spain. The partnership with Fluidra provides a platform for this expansion and for introducing the solution to new aquatic facility operators.

The challenge is to roll out this expertise while taking account of the specific circumstances of each region, including climate, usage, operating arrangements and local constraints.

This European dimension offers a growth opportunity aligned with Datapool’s ambition: to make data-driven management accessible to more facilities.

A new phase for sustainable management

With Fluidra, Datapool intends to continue developing its solution with one priority in mind: turning aquatic facilities’ data into practical day-to-day decisions.

For local authorities and operators, this new momentum is intended to strengthen opportunities for optimisation, with a consistent goal: to conserve resources, control costs and maintain the quality of service provided to users.
